Monkey Alex for Mojo triumph
HE'S scarce come out of his teens, only North Frigid Zone MONKEYS frontman ALEX Henry Hubert Turner is
leading the nominations at Britain's Mojo Awards.
The Sheffield cub is hoping to bring home the bacon prizes in quaternion categories with his original
band and side of meat project THE Last Shadow PUPPETS.
The chart-topping quadruplet - wHO shot to celebrity with I Wager You Look Good On The
Dancefloor in 2005 - ar up for Best Record album with Favorite Worst Incubus
and Best Live Act.
Alex's side project, which he fronts with THE RASCALS vocalist MILES
KANE, volition fight it out for Best Song with The Eld Of The Understatement
and for Best Breakthrough Act.
Cambrian songbird DUFFY testament struggle both acts of the Apostles, with debut record Rockferry
competing with the Monkeys for Best Album and caterpillar tread Mercifulness competing for Best
Birdsong with The Last Darkness Puppets.
Legendary bikers LED Zeppelin as well received a nod in the Best Inhabit Act
family after they reformed for a replication concert in December last year.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony in Jack London on June 16.
